How High's The Water Mama?

We are in a holding pattern waiting out the high water in Fairfield Harbour.  Apparently the continous northeast winds like we have had for the last two weeks cause the water to back up into the Neuse River causing flooding.  The marina where we are has only fixed piers, and usually the are fine since there is no lunar tide to speak of here, but we had a foot and a half of water over the top of the dock yesterday at the high point, and there had been several inches over the dock for two days before.  When the water gets over the pier they shut off the power, so we have been operating on batteries, inverter, and generator for the last three days.  We are waitig for the winds to subside so we can travel even if the water is high, but so far every day has been too windy.  I don't think Hurricane Joaquin offshore is helping matters any, hopefully once it has past things will get back to normal. At least our Dockmaster walks on water.

Kimi passed the time by watching some TV.

Our boat is in the middle of the above picture, just to the left of the boat with the green bimini (not the one in the foreground.)

Thanks to my brother David for the pictures from shore.
